Shipping Tips

Sample Pickup is available throughout Nevada depending upon distance and sample volume.  Please contact the laboratory to confirm availability and schedule a pickup. If samples are shipped to the lab, we recommend the use of UPS or FedEx. 

Please include a sample submittal form with all sample submissions.

If samples are shipped in multiple bag shipments, please clearly mark the bag number and total number of bags in the shipment.

Clients shipping or delivering regulated soil samples to Reno must contact the lab in advance of shipping to obtain a copy of the permit conditions and PPQ Form 550 Black/White shipping labels. Reno USA Permit Number: P330-11-00075, expiration: 02/10/2014

Certifications

Our Reno USA analytical facility is individually certified to standards within ISO 9001:2008 and has received accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 from the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) for the following methods:

Regional Overview

The ALS Minerals North America region includes a key analytical facility in North Vancouver, British Columbia, analytical laboratories in Val d’Or Quebec, and Reno, Nevada USA. Branch laboratories receive, prepare and offer broad analytical capabilities throughout the region, including facilities in Mexico, Eastern Canada, Western Canada, Nevada and Alaska. In addition, portable or mine site laboratories are available at selected locations.

Operations in Mexico include our laboratories in Guadalajara, Chihuahua, Hermosillo and Zacatecas. Facilities in Nevada include labs in Elko, Winnemucca and Reno. In Alaska, our lab is in Fairbanks. Our Eastern Canada labs include those in Thunder Bay, Timmins, Sudbury, and Val d’Or. North and Western Canada facilities include those in Terrace, BC, Whitehorse Yukon, Yellowknife NT, and North Vancouver.

The North Vancouver hub lab is our center of excellence, from which we handle our highest technology instrumentation applied to analytical and mineralogy needs of the mining and exploration community. The North Vancouver laboratory spectroscopy lab includes over 30 ICP-AES and ICP-MS instruments. Our XRF staff and MLA staff specialize in whole rock and digital mineralogy work. The Specialty assay laboratory has a group of highly trained chemists who provide the special methods often called upon by a diverse variety of clients.
