We are pleased to announce that Doug Johnson has joined ALS Environmental as the Business Development Manager for the Prairies Region in Canada.
Reporting to Joyce Chow, Director of Western Canada Operations, Doug’s primary responsibilities in this role are to lead the sales team, and maintain and develop new business opportunities. Doug will be based out of the ALS facility in Calgary, Alberta and will oversee Business Development for all of Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Doug brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the environmental testing field covering all aspects of customer service, laboratory operations, quality, and business development. He brings leadership and technical expertise in the areas of organic and inorganic testing, industrial hygiene and project management in support of valued ALS clients in the consultant, industrial, government and academic sectors. His educational background spans the fields of Chemical Technology and Chemistry from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and Waterloo University.
Prior to this appointment with ALS, Doug worked with various environmental laboratories in the Alberta region with positions covering Business Manager, Laboratory Manager, National Client Service Manager and Director of Operations. Doug brings with him extensive knowledge of the environmental analytical testing field that services the oil and gas industry, mining, land development, permit monitoring, and the environmental assessment process. He has experience liaising with internal and external customers, managing client relationships, and negotiating and delivering service agreements.
