Women in Mining (WIM) is an international group that aims to promote the role of women in the mining industry, and the Chilean chapter was created about two years ago.
Karina Bustos (one of our Project Metallurgists in Chile) has been participating in this group since its inception, and this year was involved in the organization of the Women In Mining (WIM) dinner held every year near the Chilean Miners Day on August 10th.
ALS has always endorsed and fully supported equal opportunity, and was proud to support women from the Minerals and Life Science areas that wanted to attend the dinner. Gender equality is not only important to ALS, but is something that is actively encouraged throughout our global operations. The Chilean chapter of Women in Mining is an inspirational organization, and the dinner held to celebrate this was an evening enjoyed by everyone that attended.
