LoginOver the last century, methamphetamine has gone from a miracle drug discovery in a Japanese laboratory to a social economic scourge for the Drug Enforcement Agencies, homeowners, landlords, and renters alike. In recent years, methamphetamine and other illicit drugs have not only caused serious health issues for users but have also turned thoughts of a dream home into a nightmare for prospective homeowners.
ALS developed Method 9111 under contract with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to assist in the detection of methamphetamine, as well as a myriad of other illicit drugs. Utilizing LC/MS instrumentation ALS is able to detect very low levels of contamination which enables the differentiation from recreational usage to those levels that would identify the full-blown meth cook operation.
Samples are taken using Cotton Gauze Wipe.
The method covers 10 of the most common illicit drugs.
