Zach Chataway appointed as Environmental's newest Regional Manager for Queensland
ALS is committed to being the market leader in service, quality, technical support and value for Environmental testing and analysis. Part of the strategic vision to achieve this commitment is to ensure that our regional clients receive the best possible service from ALS.
ALS' operations in Queensland are made up of two laboratories (the main Brisbane laboratory and the Townsville regional support laboratory), three Environmental Service Offices (Mackay, Gladstone, and Roma), a field services office in Chinchilla, and two cross divisional support offices (Geochemistry in Mount Isa and Coal in Emerald).
Following the development of a new Environmental Strategic Planning cycle for Australia, a review of the Queensland business structure was undertaken. As a result of this review, a new senior position has been created to manage ALS’ regional operations in Queensland and oversee the Client Service and Business Development activities in Regional Queensland.
Reporting to the Queensland State Manager, Zach will be responsible for the operational activities of the Townsville Laboratory and the Mackay, Gladstone and Roma Environmental Service Offices, with each of these sites reporting through to him. Zach will also take a leading role in the direction and implementation of Business Development and Client Service for all regional Queensland clients.
Zach, who is currently based in Townsville, began his career with ALS in 2011 as the Environmental Service Representative in Mackay before being promoted to Central Queensland Environmental Service Representative in 2012, where he oversaw both the Mackay and Gladstone Shopfronts. In 2013 Zach relocated to Brisbane and between then and 2015 progressed through Business Development Officer, Client Service Manager and Business Development Manager roles in the Brisbane Laboratory. In January 2016 Zach took on his most challenging role to date as the Townsville Laboratory Manager and was responsible for the development and implementation of the new ALS facility. Zach has continued to grow his career through the steep learning curve of managing the day to day operations of a rapidly growing regional ALS laboratory.
Zach’s new role will see him step away from the bench and the day to day work in the Townsville Laboratory and concentrate on providing an excellent service across all regional operations and the growth and development of the Queensland regional business.
Please join me in congratulating Zach and supporting him in his appointment to this new and exciting role.
