Proficiency Testing

ALS laboratories in the UK participate in a wide range of external proficiency testing schemes to ensure the accuracy, reliability and consistency of analytical results. These include:

• CRYPTS, EQA, LEAP and QWAS – Microbiology and Cryptosporidium analysis
• Aquacheck, Contest and RTC – Organic and inorganic chemistry analysis

Specialist Licences and Certifications

ALS Hawarden holds a Plant Health Licence issued by The Food and Environment Research Agency (FERA). This licence permits the import of soil samples from overseas for analytical testing.

ALS’ Legionella testing laboratory, based in Coventry, holds a Legionella Control Association (LCA) Certificate of Registration. This laboratory utilises the MALDI-ToF confirmation technique to support robust and reliable Legionella analysis.
