NSF 61 certification at ALS takes 4–6 weeks from complete submission.
NSF 61 certification cost varies by product type, number of products and certification scope. Contact ALS for a program quote.
ALS is ANSI and SCC-accredited for NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 certification and is listed by the EPA as one of eight ANSI-accredited third-party NSF 61 certifiers in the U.S.
NSF 61 certification requires product samples, formulation documentation, and bill of materials. ALS reviews documentation requirements with you before submission to confirm completeness.
Switching NSF 61 certifiers does not necessarily require restarting the process. In most cases, existing documentation and prior test data can be carried over. ALS reviews your current certification file and scopes the transition before you commit.
ALS certifies full product portfolios under a single program – one audit calendar, one point of contact, one invoice.
For products certified after October 2017, NSF 61 certification typically satisfies the NSF 372 lead-free requirement. NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 was updated that year to incorporate NSF 372 requirements for most product categories. Products certified under the prior version of the standard may need review.
NSF 61 certification is accepted in Canada. NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 is a trilateral standard recognized across U.S. and Canadian markets. ALS holds both ANSI and SCC accreditation.
