Water Quality Testing

The laboratory is providing accrediting testing services for the most popular and routine testing parameters required by government, EIA and EM & A programs.

We provide sampling bottles, with preservatives and well packed in cooler boxes for our clients to collect their samples.

Sampling service is also available when needed.

ALS provides different testing packages to fulfil different Water quality as required by the Hong Kong WSD, EPD and LCSD including:

• Drinking water Standards (HKDW), 2021,
• WSD Circular Letter No. 05/2023; The commissioning of freshwater plumbing system;
• Quality Water Supply Scheme for Buildings - Fresh Water (Plus);

DASO Testing Requirement in Marine Sediment PAH for CEW, 2022 ed. Amendment 01/2024

The technical circular provide detail testing requirement and evaluation procedure for all dredging and excavating of marine  sediment activity in the city. Testing include heavy metals, PAH, PCB, TBT and marine toxicity are required.

Risk-Based Remediation Goals for Contaminated Land Management, 2007

Risk-Based remediation Goals (RBRGs), EPD 2007 provides the threshold concentration requirements of different targeting contaminant in metals, hexavalent chromium, cyanides, SVOC, VOC, PCB, TBT & Dioxins & Furans for land soil and groundwater which are hazard or risks to human health. 

Compost

ALS providing full testing service to help our clients to evaluate the maturity and suitability of the compost composition according to the requirement of the Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre (HKORC). 

Other Major Testing

Legionella & Microbial testing in Water 

ALS provides fully accredited service for microbiological testing service to clients.

For Legionella, we are required and using the most up-to-dating testing service, according to the AS and ISO standards, to test for the cooling tower and potable water samples.

 

Tributyltin (TBT) in Water, Sediment / Soil and Biota

We provide TBT testing in different kinds of samples including marine water, interstitial water, marine sediment and its interstitial water  and biota.

 

Sodium Hypochlorite Solution testing

ALS provides the different testing for the effective chlorine and impurities of sodium hypochlorite solution.
