Description
Vibration Analysis is a widely used condition monitoring method. You will cover the theory behind vibration analysis and learn how to take vibration measurements and conduct basic analysis to diagnose faults in common types of equipment.
If you have never been involved in vibration analysis before then by the end of this course you should be in a position where you are ready to undertake data collection under supervision. If you already have the necessary practical experience for certification, then along with the exam you should be ready to get certified.
Key Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Demonstrate an understanding of the key elements of the use of vibration analysis, including:
- Maintenance practises and vibration condition monitoring
- Interpretation of the graphical representation of vibration
- Sources of vibration in equipment
- Requirements for data collection
- Basic analysis of data
- Basic corrective actions
Demonstrate the ability to:
- Correctly place sensors on equipment
- Set up and use a device to collect data
- Import and export collection routes
- Recognition of bad data during data collection
Pre-requisites
There are no formal pre-requisites for this course, however, some exposure to Vibration Analysis will be beneficial and we recommend a sound understanding a mathematics. As we want you to have a positive course experience, when you enrol into this course we will also give you access to our online course:
- ‘Mathematics Preparation for NDT and CM Courses’
Who Should Attend
This course has been designed for anyone that wants to learn how to collect vibration data and conduct basic analysis regardless of experience. It would also suit anyone wanting to gain a general understanding of what is involved in data collection and analysis.
