ALS acquires pharmaceutical analysis laboratory ARJ in Latin America
Founded in 1967 and employing over 500 employees, ARJ specializes in providing quality control services for medicines, medical equipment, healing material, food, beverages, cosmetics and chemicals to major pharmaceutical companies globally.
Established since 1967 in Mexico City, ARJ started offering chemical and microbiology analyses of vitamins and antibiotics; quantification of active pharmaceutical ingredients by UV- Visible Spectrophotometry and pyrogens tests.
In 1970, the laboratory moved to Colonia Granjas - México, adding CLG/FID tests to its services portfolio. In 1996, after four expansion refurbishments on the same building, the construction works of the current building started, having and initial 1300 m2 surface and 54 employees. In 2008, the third and fourth floor were added in new refurbishment to the building. With the purpose of increasing capacity for microbiology and biology tests, a new 2400 m2 microbiology laboratory was built in 2012. In 2017, started the construction works for the third 6000 m2 building that opened in April 2018.
Currently, with three buildings covering an overall 12000m2 surface and over 500 employees, ARJ offers almost all methods required by different pharmacopoeias.
- Sanitary License issued by COFEPRIS based on Mexican Norm NMX-EC-17025-IMNC- “General Requirements for the Competence of Analyses and Calibration Laboratories”
- Laboratory authorized by SADER (Rural Development and Agriculture Secretary), in compliance with Mexican Norm NOM-062-ZOO-1999
- GLP certificate issued by INVIMA, Colombian National Institute for the Food and Drug Surveillance.
