1. Breakthrough research in wound care: the new enzymatic debrider (SN514)
Our study on the novel enzymatic debrider SN514 demonstrates how ALS supports innovation anchored in clinical evidence. The research investigated in vitro, preclinical and early clinical models to evaluate enzymatic activity, wound debridement performance and skin irritation potential.
Key findings include:
- Strong digestion of collagen, elastin and fibrin in vitro
- Effective eschar removal in preclinical burn models
- Minimal irritation on healthy human skin
- A stable, ready‑to‑use hydrogel formulation suitable for clinical application.
2. Advancing photoprotection science with the ALT SPF project
ALS played a key role in the international ALT SPF initiative, a project that characterised five new alternative methods for determining sun protection factor (SPF). This work contributed directly to the creation of two new standards – ISO 23675 and ISO 23698 – marking a milestone in the industry.
Our team executed tests in accordance with ISO 24444 and ISO 24443, completed extensive method evaluations, and performed analyses on 32 samples using the innovative fused method. This scientific rigor highlights ALS as a trusted contributor in the global photoprotection community.
