Leaching & special extractions

Standard & non-standard methods

In addition to extraction methods stipulated in standards from ISO or EPA, certain matrices or targeted compounds requires special methods to ensure a representative analytical sample is prepared.

Special leaching methods for both metals and organic compounds may also be required. Leaching methods are often developed with natural processes in mind and are developed to mimic what potentially can happen in a normal environment.

The ALS difference

ALS laboratories offer a full range of extraction and leaching methods. In addition to the accredited standard methods, numerous in-house validated methods are available upon request. When required, our chemists will work in close cooperation with clients to develop target or project specific methods.

New leaching methods have been developed in collaboration with the academia and when required our chemists will work in close cooperation with clients to develop target or project specific methods.

La diferenciación de ALS

Quality Testing. Quality Results.

ALS standard methods are certified and accredited by third party associations. For the more novel projects or compound specific methods, ALS follows the same stringent quality protocol to ensure that these methods exhibit the same robustness as all other conventional methods.

Meeting your specific needs

Leaching and extractions for metals, organic, and inorganic compounds, are part of the capabilities offered by ALS. Below are examples of methods offered as standard (client or project specific methods can be developed upon request):

  • Sequential leaching for metals
  • Method 1311 (TCLP)
  • Method 1312 (SPLP)
  • Method 1313 (LEAF)
  • Method 1314 (LEAF)
  • Method 1315 (LEAF)
  • Method 1316 (LEAF)
  • Solid waste leaching methods, EN and SIS-CEN/TS
  • Special extraction/digestion methods for metals and metal oxides
